x amount of people die every day.
x amount of soldiers die.
x amount of soldiers wounded.
it's all meaningless crap until you lose someone you know, or at the least been in the guy's presence.
it's all meaningless until you see the pain of his loss through the guys that loved him like a father.
it's all meaningless until you know the faces of his wife and two children that will have the world's worst news delivered to them in a well pressed Class-A uniform.
meanwhile, new orleans has everything short of the apocalypse happen to it, and we are stuck in this sand bucket... wondering why we can't be there to help.
.yep.

No one could ever know how hard it is being over there, seeing people you know get killed, and then finding out that that back home a natural disaster just pretty much demolished a whole city and you can't be there to help...
But I admire you for being over there in the first place. Being in the army. I could never do that... a lot of people couldn't.
Don't worry yourself to death over the people in New Orleans... there are people helping out, and millions of dollars worth of donations, so you just try to keep yourself healthy until your safe return.
:hugs:
